Weekend Projects.

We've been cleaning up the house a little and fixing up things that need doing. When we bought this house it was the depths of Winter and there was a lovely 3 foot layer of snow over the entire yard. Since the snow melt it's been interesting discovering what was under all that snow. J and I like to pride ourselves on being quite possibly the world's worst gardeners but since we now own a home we thought we should actually get used to the idea of gardening AND besides there's huge pressure, the houses in our street have the most gorgeous gardens I've seen and then there's our house......

This was the front garden I wanted to turn into a flower garden.

Before.
After.

Not a bad result I think. Here's some more pictures of the garden.

Cleaning out the pond proved to be a major task.

This is an aftershot of the pond. Needs some greenery around it but that's a project for another weekend.

We got ourselves one of these. They're actually pretty fun.

Our idea of romance these days. A little message written for me in mould. Isn't he a dreamboat?

We then took Buddy to the pet store, he's been asking for some fish for a while. He was pretty darn excited to get 25 of the suckers.

Giving the fishies a new home.

The previous owner's decor of choice was a bit strange. There was a couple of statues floating around the yard so we've turned them into our celebration statues. The twins will now be decorated according to the next holiday coming up. Here they are all dressed for Canada Day (July 1st).

This is what happens when my short attention span with gardening gives up.

These 2 are so beautiful together.

And this is what happens when your 3 year old budding photographer steals your camera. We both clearly find gardening secondary to photography.

You will all be pleased to know that one week later we've managed to kill 25 fish and the plants in the front garden are slowly showing me their distaste at being planted in my garden. Wow, we're even better than I thought.
